Silver lustre Goblet
1985
Thrown and turned earthenware, agate and platinum.
Contains a combination of techniques of sponged underglaze, agate stem and platinum lustre resist with tiny handles on a smallish goblet.
Clay has been used to imitate other materials from early on. The fascination is in the difference between the 'real' and the 'unreal' or make-believe. Inside this complicated illusion silver turns out to be just pottery.
