Masons Ironstone Jar

A damaged but wonderful exmple of early factory- made earthenware.

Masons were well known manufacturers of copies of high fashion pottery for the new wealthy.

It contains a humour and vitality present in its market rather than in the original chinese ceramics which it copied.

It was this jar that the dragon jars were based on.
