Large Yellow Jar with Lid
1984
One of a series of thrown and turned decorative earthenware jars.
This is a combination of sponged underglaze colour and enamel, yellow and blue air-brushed over a latex mask. The images and border are applied with a mapping pen.
The series includes thinned gold lustre over random sponged black underglaze.
Done at a time when paint effects were very popular eg. rag-rolling.
36cm. high
Roger Michell private collection.
