POTTERY WITH FEET

We have found many images exploring the origins of pottery with feet. Often having religious or symbolic significance pottery with feet was made as far back as 1000BC. In 700BC by the Hallstatt culture in Czechoslovakia and 500BC by the Daunian tribe of Central Italy.

Wit and Wine: A New Look at Ancient Iranian Ceramics, from the Arthur Sackler Foundation. This exhibition featured many beautiful and sophisticated pieces of pottery establishing Iranian pottery as one of the most spectacular ceramic traditions of the world.
